BREAKING: FG BRINGS BACK YOUWIN, REBRANDS JONATHAN’S LEGACY

[Abuja]–The Federal Government late yesterday announce through its twitter account the unveiling of the rebranded Youth Enterprise with Innovation in Nigeria (YouWIN) now to be known as YouWINConnect.


The twitter handle further revealed that YouWIN was conceived in 2011 under the administration of former president Goodluck Jonathan and has since seen to the success 3,900 enterprises.

“As part of the detailed review of #YouWIN we met with awardees & participants & used their feedback to design the next-level #YouWINConnect.

#YouWINConnect will continue to provide funding through a Venture Fund, but its primary focus will be to improve entrepreneurial performance”, it concluded.

It will be recalled that the Ministry of Finance in a press release dated June 28, 2016, has initially revealed the plan of the Federal Government to restructure and refocus the YouWIN programme with the objective of injecting new ideas for its sustainability.

The press release signed by Salisu Na’inna Dambatta, the Director of Information to the ministry went further to state that: “as part of the change agenda of the current administration, the YouWin programme has to be restructured to ensure efficiency, transparency and accountability in investing the capital grants given to the beneficiaries by the Federal Government.

Mrs Adeosun confirmed that all FG commitments under the YouWIN programme will be fully met, but due diligence would be carried out on every beneficiary, using tools like the Bank Verification Number (BVN), and before disbursements.” He submitted.
