[Osun]–A Federal High court sitting in Osogbo presided over by Justice Maureen Adaobi Onyetenu has nullified the implementation of the filing fees initiated by  the state government .

The new filing fees which was contained in a circular dated 24th of March 2017 signed by the Principal Registrar, Litigation of Osun-State High court, Mr Jacob Taiwo was earlier kicked against legally in court by Osun-State lawyers on Tuesday.

The counsel to the Nigeria Bar Association, Osun-State Mr. Yinka Sokoya had prayed the court on Tuesday for a stand down of the circular by the state government introducing the new filing fees but the prayer was not granted, the Justice said she must go through the circular before any action can be made concerning the prayer of the NBA. She told the plaintiff to filed the circular to court registry for her to attend to it.

However, The Justice, Mrs. Maureen Adaobi Onyetenu in her ruling on Wednesday morning  restrained the implementation of the content in the circular.

She said ” I hereby suspend all actions, proceeding and implementation of the circular dated 24th of February 2017 signed by one Jacob Taiwo and the case is hereby adjourn to 16th of March 2017 for hearing of motion on  notice.”

It will be recalled that THE PAGE had reported the Nigeria Bar Association, Osun-State branch has dragged the Governor of Osun-State, Mr. Rauf Aregbesola, Chief Justice and others to court over hike in filing fee in the state.
