[Ibadan]–Brightville College, Ibadan, yesterday, March 9, 2017 has emerged as the overall winner of the Best of the Best Relay Race (BBRR) held at the Sports Complex, University of Ibadan.

Brightville defeated Command Secondary School, Ibadan,the defending champion to emerge in the annual secondary school race.

The school also defeated other high profile schools like Abadina Grammar School, UI; Best Brain College, Idi-Ape; Command Secondary School, Apata and Deril Academy, Gbagi to win both male and female categories respectively.

While speaking with journalists at the event, Dr. Isaac Friday Ogada, the proprietor of Brightville, lamented that relay race nowadays is not the way it used to be as it is always an avenue to discover talents for the national team.

“But all the same, it was a wonderful event, as you can see every aspect of the event was very competitive, enjoyable and interesting. The houses competed in various events; you could as well see the testimonial match, where a display of football artistry was made. You could also see the students displayed character, zeal, determination and talent too,” Ogada said.

It will be recalled that Best of the Best Relay Race was conceived eight years ago to evaluate schools’ athletes improvement.
