FIRS SHUTS DOWN TWO COMPANIES IN IBADAN OVER N884 MILLION TAX DEBT

[Ibadan]–The officials of Federal Inland Revenue Service, yesterday, March 9, shuts down AOP Logistics Limited, at Breweries new site area, and Markfina International Limited at Kilometre 9, Kulodi, New Ife Road, both in Ibadan over 884 million Naira tax debt.


The officials alleged a tax debt profile of N863,188,498.00 to AOP Logistics Limited and N21,183,020.95 to Markfina International Limited.

The task force declared that the premises of the companies shut will not be re-opened until they pay up their tax debts and that of AOP Logistics being accumulated between 2007 and 2011.

However, Ayodele Oluwalekan, a management staff of Markfina International Limited, told the FIRS team that the company has not been able to pay what is owes because it stopped operations for a while, an explanation that did not impress the FIRS team leader, which ordered the premises sealed.
