[Abuja]–The Vice President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, will continue to act as the President of  the Federal Republic of Nigeria, amidst President Muhammadu Buhari’s arrival in the early hours of Friday, March 10, 2017.

This was made known by President Muhammadu Buhari, while addressing top government officials at the first lady conference room of the presidential villa in Abuja, shortly after his arrival, Thecable reports.

The page had earlier reported the return of the President today, as it makes it 50 days after his departure from the country on January 19, 2017 to seek medical treatment in London.

At the meeting, President Buhari thanked Nigerians for the support and prayers made.

Present at the meeting was Babagana Monguno, national security adviser; Lawal Daura, director-general of the Department of State Services (DSS) and Femi Adesina, presidential spokesman; among others.

However, Mr. Tolu Ogunlesi, had tweeted some minutes ago; “PMB joked that he deliberately came back on a Friday so @ProfOsinbajo can continue working and he (PMB) can have a few more days to rest.”
