[Osun]–The Magistrate Court sitting in Osogbo, Osun-State presided over by Chief Magistrate, Mr. Olushola Aluko has remanded a 23-years-old man, Adeniyi Damilare for alleged armed robbery act of a student hostel.

The prosecutor, Mr. Olu Abodunrin said the offence is committed by Damilare and others four now at large on 27th Febuaray 2017 at 8:30pm.

According to the charge, “Damilare and four others now at large at Renning Hostel along Edunabon, Ipetumodu did conspire among yourselves to commit felony to wit: armed robbery and thereby committed an offence contrary to section 6(b) and punishable under section 1(I) of the robbery and firearms (Special provisions) Act Cap RII Vol. 14 laws of federation of Nigeria, 2004.

“That you Adeniyi Damilare and four others now at large on the same date time place in the aforementioned magisterial district did armed yourselves with dangerous weapons such as guns, cutlass and rob students of wallets  containing money, phones value yet unknown and thereby committed an offence punishable under section 1(1), (2) (A) (b) of the Robbery and Firearms ( special  provisions) Act Cap RII vol. 14 laws of Federation of Nigeria, 2004.
Although the accused person having his own counsel, Mr Jemmy Jones the court refuse to take his plea.

The Chief Magistrate, Mr. Olusola Aluko in his ruling said ” The accused person  should be remanded in Ile-Ife prison”

“The officer in charge should duplicate his case file and send it to the office of  Directorate Public Prosecution  immediately, the  case is hereby adjourn to 10th of April for mention and case to  be transfer to Ipetumodu.”
