[Oyo]–Barely a week after resumption following the long strike action of the Academic Staff Union of universities (ASUU), there have been complains renting the air as students return to school to discover some of their valuables were nowhere to be found.
A 300 level student who begged to remain anonymous, residing in Adenike axis, informed us about the disappearance of some of her belongings which include a small refrigerator, bags and shoes.
“I could not believe my eyes discoving my room which was locked have been evaded and reaped of valuables”, she said.
It was a growing concern as many others have since complained of one missing item or the other. This robbery case is not limited to student residents of Adenike area as reports from other places (Yoaco and UnderG) have been filed in.
The apprehension of a 300 level student, Adebayo Tomiwa, who was caught in possession of about a trailer load of student valuables by the Special Anti Robbery Squad (SARS) last week brought some light to the cases reported, as many never took the report any serious.
While Adebayo Tomiwa is in the SARS custody and students recovering their items, reports on challenges on insecurity have not ceased. Students residents of Diamond Haven Hostel also reported another case of an overnight attempt robbery on Wednesday, 15th of march, 2017.
The said criminal took to his heels after the rescue-alarm raised by occupants of the hostel.
