CHANGE: NIGERIA FEDERAL GOVERNMENT TO LAUNCH NEW IMMIGRATION REGULATION

[Abuja]–The Federal government of Nigeria is set to launch a new Immigration Regulations which is expected to enhance the security of the borders.

The Minister of Interior, Abdulrahman Dambazau, will on Monday officially launch the regulations to ensure better security and Immigration in the country.

This was disclosed by the the spokesperson for the Nigeria Immigration Service, Sunday James, in an interview with News Agency of Nigeria, on Saturday, March 18, 2017.

According to him, the new regulations are important to put into full operation, the immigration act of 2015. He mentioned that the new immigration regulation is a product of robust discourse that involved legal and migratory experts, including serving and retired immigration officers.

He added that if well implemented, the new regulations would go a long way in transforming the operations of Nigeria Immigration Service in line with international best practices.

“The honourable Minister of Interior, Lt.-Gen. Abdulrahman Dambazau, (retired) will officially present the Immigration Regulations 2017 to the public on Monday, March, 20, 2017.”

“The Immigration Regulations 2017 is a vital document that operationalises the Immigration Act 2015 and provides the legal framework for the effective implementation of the Act,” he said.
