UNIOSUN STUDENT MURDER: COURT REMANDS FRIEND WHO STABBED HIS COLLEAGUE

[Osun]–Osogbo Magistrate court, Osun State which presided over by Chief Magistrate, Mr. Olushola Aluko has remanded a 34-years-old suspect, Akanbi David for the alleged murder of 24-years-old student of Civil Engineering Department of University of Osun State.

The accused person, Akanbi David was alleged on two count charge for conspiracy and murder.

The prosecutor, Mr. Mereti Wilson told the court that Akanbi committed the offence on 16th of January, 2017 around offence is committed 5pm.

The charge sheet sighted by our correspondent read ” That you Akanbi David and others now at large on the 16th day of January, 2017 at about 1700hrs at Oke-Baale area, Osogbo  in the Osogbo magisterial district did conspire to commit felony to wit :  murder and and thereby committed an offence contrary to and punishable under section 324 of Criminal Code Cap 34. Vol II laws of Osun State of Nigeria, 2002.

LEAD CITY STUDENT SENTENCED TO DEATH FOR STABBING FELLOW STUDENT

“That you Akanbi David and others now at large on the same date, time and place in the  aforementioned Magisterial district did unlawfully kill one Amodu Kazeem Ige by stabbing him with a knife on his chest which caused his death and thereby committed an offence contray to 316(1) and punishable under section 319(1)  of the Criminal Code Cap 34. Vol II laws of Osun State of Nigeria, 2002.”

Although the accused being represented in court by his client was denied bail application and his (Akanbi) plea was not taken by the magistrate.

The Chief Magistrate, Mr. Olushola Aluko in his pronouncement said the accused should be remanded in Ilesha prison as he adjourn the case till 5th of May 2017 for mention.
