[Lagos]–A great number of influential Nigerians in the realm of politics, business among others, have felicitated with former Governor of Lagos State and a forerunner of the All Progressives Congress, Senator Bola Tinubu, as he clocks 65 years of age.

In an statement by the Chief spokesperson of the President, Mr. Femi Adeshina, President Muhammadu Buhari hailed the personality of Tinubu as he said that aside from his intellectual prowess, the former governor has said the bar for several political leaders in the country.

“President Buhari joins all members of the APC, political and business associates of the Asiwaju of Lagos, his friends and family in celebrating another milestone in the life of the great leader, whose foray into politics ushered in a better understanding of building consensus to achieve historical feats, like unseating an incumbent government.

“As he turns 65 years, the president believes the Asiwaju raised the bar for many political leaders across the country as a two term governor of Lagos State, and also bequeathed a style of leadership that completely altered the landscape of the commercial capital.

“Recalling his pleasant and intellectually enriching encounters with the Jagaban of Borgu kingdom over the years, the president reaffirms that the nation has benefited a lot from the personal sacrifices, political experience and intellectual foresight of the APC chieftain, and still stands to gain more.

“President Buhari prays that the almighty God will grant the Asiwaju good health, longer life and more wisdom to serve his country and humanity,” the statement read.

Gov. Sani Bello has also saluted the ex-governor as he had described him as a ‘phenomenon in Nigerian politics.’

“There is no one single political jargon that can best describe this personality, but Tinubu, who, of course has a title of Jagaban (Borgu) from my state, is an icon and a progressive who has a positivistic approach to issues of politics and development”, he said.

Also, the Senate President, Bukola Saraki, Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara, Business Mogul, Aliko Dangote, Governor of Lagos State, Akinwunmi Ambode, Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, among others have referred to the Nigerian political icon as an inspiration, a vital tool to the development of the country and a leader for all.
