Saraki, Dogara meets, decide to pass 2017 budget earlier than last year’s

[Abuja]–Senate President, Bukola Saraki, and the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara met on Wednesday night to discuss the 2017 budget.

The two chambers at the joint leadership meeting resolved to pass 2017 Budget earlier than when 2016 budget was passed.

All National Assembly committees with outstanding reports to the appropriation committees have been advised to submit their reports.

THE PAGE had earlier reported that the Nigerian Senate had said that the 2017 national budget may be passed before May 2017, as they disclosed that the lifespan of the 2016 budget would end on May 5, 2017.

It should also be recalled that President Muhammadu Buhari immediately after returning from his medical vacation had met with the President of the Senate, Bukola Saraki; the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara; and Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo, at the Presidential Villa, Abuja to discuss the 2017 budget.
