FUTO extends mid semester break by three weeks

[Imo]–The management of the Federal University of Technology, Owerri (FUTO) have announced the further extension of resumption from the indefinite stike cum mid-semester break that started on February 17, 2017.

The break which was necessitated by the protest held by students over hike in school fees led to the closure of the school since February 17.

The school management, obviously in shock of the unprecedented actions taken by the students on that day, immediately asked the students to vacate the school facility.

The management of the University who had earlier announced April 3rd for resumption  has however extended the  date by another 3 weeks.

The decision which was made at its Senate meeting yesterday, being March 30, was to enable them put things in order against resumption.

The new resumption date is April 24, 2017.
