[Niger]–As part of the resolutions made at the 2017 Batch ‘A’ Pre-Mobilization Workshop yesterday, National Youth Service Corps, (NYSC) has warned higher institutions and their officials against sending name of unqualified graduate for mobilization into the national service programme, saying it would attract criminal prosecution.

The Director-General of the scheme, Brig-Gen. Sulaiman Kazaure, issued this warning in Niger State, venue of the workshop.

He said, “officials of institutions of higher learning that includes names of unqualified graduates in their approved list for NYSC mobilization will be liable for criminal prosecution.”

Kazaure noted that despite all efforts of the NYSC to curtail the illegal act some institutions had adopted new strategies to sustain the unwholesome practice.

He disclosed that two institutions of higher learning suspected for allegedly presenting unqualified persons to the Scheme for mobilization are currently under investigation by regulatory bodies.

As earlier reported by the page, NYSC has recently released the time table for 2017 Batch A mobilisation process.
