[On Twitter]–A foremost Nigerian economist, entrepreneur, and philanthropist, Tony Elumelu has denied graduating with a third class from the University.

The  Ambrose Alli University graduate made this denial when a Twitter user listed him alongside Wole Soyinka and Dino Melaye as influential people that graduated with a third class from the University.

“Funny how people speak authoritatively about things they know nothing about. This is a blatant lie!…”

It should be noted that the Jos-born billionaire holds a bachelor’s degree from Ambrose Alli University, a master of science degree from the University of Lagos and he is an alumnus of Harvard Business School’s Advanced Management Programme.

While the controversy surrounding Dino Melaye’s scholarship is still unclear, Professor Wole Soyinka has since denied the rumour of graduating with a third class when he revealed in 2013 that he graduated with a Second Class Upper degree from the University College, Ibadan.
