Abuja to host 2017 National para soccer league

[Abuja]–The Para-soccer Federation of Nigeria (PFN), had on Tuesday, April 4, announced that Abuja would host the second edition of National Para-soccer League from April 6 to April 18.

The federation which had earlier announced a shift from Osun to Lagos State on March 7, made  this known in a statement by its president, Misbahu Lawn Didi, in Abuja.

NAN however gathered that  only two venues would be used for the league games.

Morning matches will hold at the Handball training Court Package B of the National stadium, Abuja, while the evening matches will hold at the Old parade ground, Area 10.

The opening ceremony will hold on April 6 while the closing ceremony will hold on April 18 at the old parade ground, Abuja.

According to earlier announcement, about 25 teams across the federation are expected to feature in the 2017 edition of the league.

The federation had therefore sought for the professional support of media in covering the second edition of the National Para soccer league tagged: ‘’Abuja 2017’’.

Para soccer game was introduced in 1988 in Nigeria and the federation was established in 1996 to promote the sport.

The first edition was hosted by Kano in 2016 which attracted teams from across the country.
