AAUA reinstates sacked lecturers after Akeredolu’s intervention

[Ondo]–The Governing Council of Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba Akoko, Ondo State, has reinstated its sacked lecturers after intervention of the Governor of Ondo State, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, SAN.

The lecturers were earlier sacked by the institution for protesting against the management of over non-payment of their salaries and allowances for seven months.

The Governor has however congratulated the reinstated lecturers in a release signed by  Dr Doyin Odebowale, the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor of Ondo State on Special Duties and Strategy.

“Sequel to the intervention of the Governor of Ondo State, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, SAN, on the issue of the sacked lecturers and staff of Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba Akoko, Ondo State, the State Government wishes to congratulate the affected persons reinstated by the Governing Council of the University after a review of all cases.

“The Government enjoins the recalled staff to rededicate themselves to duty and cast aside all bitter recriminations and animosity against perceived adversaries. The government expects them to be dutiful and disciplined. This is the only way to convince the good people of the state that their recall is justified.”

He further added, “In a similar vein, the government hopes that the outstanding cases at Rufus Giwa Polytechnic,Owo, will receive attention, in earnest.

“This administration’s commitment to justice and equity is unwavering.” he concluded.

It should be recalled that the Governor has earlier promised to reinstate the sacked lecturers during his campaign at Akungba Akoko last year November.
