Court remands teenager in Prison over cartridges possession

[Osun]–Osogbo Magistrate court, Osun State presided over by Chief Magistrate, Mrs. Sodamade Falilat had remanded a 17-years-old teenager, Hammed Waheed for having in his possession cartridges.

The accused person was arraigned on a count charge of unlawful possession of cartridge.

The prosecutor, Mr. Mereti Wilson told the court that Hammed committed the offence on 19th of March, 2017 at Morak Hotel Ago-Wande, Osogbo.

According to the charge sheet obtained by our correspondent, ” Hammed Waheed did unlawfully have in you possession three live cartridges which you could not give satisfactory account and thereby committed an offence contrary to and punishable under section 27(1) (b) (II) of the firearms Act Cap F. 28 laws of the Federation of Nigeria, 2004″.

The accused person having been represented in court by his counsel, Mr. Najite Okobe his plea was not taken.

The Chief Magistrate, Mrs. Falilat Sodamade in her ruling remand the accused person in prison pending when information will be filed against him at High Court and the case was adjourned to 31 of May 2017 for hearing.
