[Ibadan]–Alhaji Olaide Olayiwola, the Oyo state chairman for KOWA party has lamented that the state lacks policy direction at the moment.

He made this revelation during a press conference held at the party’s secretariat, Dugbe, Ibadan.

He said that it is clear enough that the state lacks policy direction at the moment, as all the elephant projects promised by the administration were not executed. He advised the government to think of the survival of the citizenry, before embarking on any elephant projects, as the citizenry matters most in the order of importance.

In the same vein, he implored the state government to look inward and resuscitate moribund industries like Leyland, Exide Battery, Wire and Cable, among others, so as to generate employment for the unemployed.

Olayiwola further challenged the state governor to emulate Mallam Nasir Elrufai, his Kaduna state counterpart and make public his salaries, allowances, as well as how the Paris club refund given by the Federal Government was spent.

On local government matters, the chairman of the party condemned the continous appointment of caretaker chairmen to man local government in the state. He said it is wrong for Ajimobi led administration in the state, not to conduct council election, thereby denying the citizenry of better administration.

The state youth leader, Mrs. Edem Ossai, while delivering a vote of thanks unbehalf of the party, assured members of the press and the citizens of the state that the party is ready to be a viable alternative and also play her role as a formidable opposition for the growth of democracy in the state.
