FG commences work on Bill Clinton bridge, plans to complete work in 3 months

[Abuja]–Work has commenced on the Bill Clinton bridge, a part of Umar Musa Yar’Adua Expressway, Abuja, the Minister of Federal Capital territory, Muhammad Musa Bello, has said.

The bridge is considered to be one of the “unfinished and abandoned infrastructure projects”, inherited by the incumbent administration.

The Federal government through its official twitter account, @AsoRock, tweeted that workers are already onsite, ensuring that work is completed in three months time.

“FCT Minister, Muhammad Musa Bello & Perm Sec, Babatope Ajakaiye inspecting ongoing works at the Bill Clinton Bridge, today.

“Bill Clinton Bridge is part of Airport Expressway (Umar Musa Yar’Adua Expressway). Project contract awarded, & construction began, May 2009.

“Project is one of the unfinished & abandoned infrastructure projects we inherited. Contractors now back onsite; completion due in 3 months”, the tweet reads.

The Minister had earlier said that the opening of the strategic trumpet bridge would further reduce traffic bottlenecks along that route.
