[Abuja]–President Muhammadu Buhari has told the Osinbajo-led presidential panel probing the allegations against the suspended Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Babachir Lawal and the Director-General of the National Intelligence Agency, Ayo Oke, to suspend all government officials linked to both cases.

This disclosure was made by a top presidency source who spoke with the Daily Trust.

The panel, comprising the National Security Adviser Babagana Monguno and the Attorney-General of the Federation Abubakar Malami, is probing the allegations of violations of law and due process made against the suspended SGF in the award of contracts under the Presidential Initiative on the North-East programme.

The presidential panel which started work on  Wednesday, is also investigating the discovery of $43,449,947, £27,800 and N23, 218,000 made by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission in a residential apartment at Osborne Towers, Ikoyi, Lagos.

THE PAGE had earlier reported that the presidency had directed the suspension of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation and the Director General of the National Intelligence Agency (NIA) over the allegations.

Meanwhile, the Nigeria Labour Congress has decried the membership of Vice President Yemi Osinbajo in the panel stating that it is inappropriate for an administrative committee to investigate an alleged criminal offence.

It was also revealed in a statement signed by Laolu Akande, the spokesman to Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, yesterday that the panel will be working in behind close doors.
