National Assembly has not called for Senator Adeleke’s replacement — INEC

[Osun]–The Independent National Electoral Commission had declared that the Nigeria National Assembly has not notified and called for replacement of the late Senator Adeleke Isiaka.

During the flag off continuous voter’s registration exercise press conference held at INEC premises on Thursday the  Administrative secretary INEC OSUN STATE, Barr. Emmanuel Ademushure revealed this.

Barr. Emmanuel said “Even the deaf and blind heard that Osun State has lost a representative of National Assembly, Osun-West but the law stipulated that we must be officially informed”

“It is the party that will inform the National Assembly that they have lost a representative and once that has been done National Assembly will now Inform INEC about it, even though you heard it on Networks and pages of Newspaper.”

“Until National Assembly communicate same to us that is when we will declare the post vacant, as the law has given us a time laps. We must inform the public and filed for his replacement.”

“We are waiting for correspondence from National Assembly to Inform us about his demise and as soon as it gets to Abuja it will be communicated to us”.

However, Barr. Emmanuel made it cleared that those who will be registering starting from Thursday won’t participate in the voting.

He said “The representation was eight representatives assembly that was fixed on record and it is even publicize”

“Therefore, those who are just registering will not be part of voting process in the election that would get the deceased replaced”.
