Senate considers INEC-REC nominees, refers it to the committee on INEC

[Abuja]–The Senate at it’s ongoing plenary session has considered the Independent National Electoral Commission Resident Electoral Commissioners and has referred it to the Senate committee on INEC for further report.

The Senate Committee on INEC is expected to work on the list and report back to the Senate in two week’s time.

Furthermore, the Senate, presided over by the Senate Preisdent, Senator Bukola Saraki, has named Senator Suleiman Nazif of Bauchi North constituemcy, as interim chairman Comittee on INEC for the appointment confirmation.

THE PAGE had earlier reported that the presidency had written the senate in March to seek confirmation for the appointment of 27 new resident electoral commissioners.
