Akeredolu promises to pay arrears of workers’ salaries, even if it takes entire state’s resources

[Ondo]–The Ondo state Governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, SAN has promised workers in the state to pay all the arrears left behind by his predecessor, Dr. Olusegun Mimiko, even if it takes the entire state’s resources.

The Governor made this promise while receiving the report of the committee set up to look into the Salary Arrears of the state civil servants.

While submitting the report, the Deputy Governor, Arakunrin Alfred Agboola Ajayi, who is also the chairman of the committee, thanked the Governor for giving him the opportunity to serve in that capacity.

He further expressed hope that when government look into the detailed report payment may not be difficult.

Akeredolu in his address, thanked the state civil servants for their resilience and doggedness during the difficult time.

“We can’t ask workers to forgo their salaries. We have to pay even if that’s all we are able to do as government”, he added.
