[Osun]–The Coordinator, Osun State National Youth Service Corps, Mr. Emmanuel Attah has urged the prospective corps members of 2017, batch ‘A’ stream 1 to be vaccinated against meningitis and come to Orientation camp with medical status before camping.
Emmanuel Attah said this during a press conference ahead the camping exercise to kick off on 23rd of May 2017 through 12th of June 2017.
Emmanuel said “the time table for the orientation exercise is set and we are ready to welcome all the youths across the country.
“The orientation camp in Ede has been given a face lift through the contribution of several individuals. Among the good hearted people is the Honorable Speaker, Osun State House of Assembly, Mr. Najeem Salam, Senior Special Adviser on Project Monitoring to the Osun State governor, Engr. Wole Idowu and other patriotic citizens.
“We know that the camping will coincide with the Ramadan Festive period and we have put necessary welfare package together to ensure that the Muslims brothers and sisters are very comfortable during this period. In the same vein our officers has been well briefed on how to relate with the corps member.
“We are expecting 2300 corps members in Osun State and as they come in I want to advice them on the medical challenges we are having in the country such as Lassa fever, Meningitis and the threat of Ebola that is resurfacing once again.
“So I urged all prospective corps member to ensure themselves vaccinated against meningitis before coming to camp. we are ready to take care of them but this is just a preventive measures and also they are strongly advice to report to camp their medical status.
On the same page Emmanuel gave an assurance of providing adequate medical care as the doctors from Obafemi Awolowo University Teaching Hospital will be staying all through the orientation activities.
“I want to stress it that, we have zero tolerance for drug and cultism and anybody caught will be handled according to the by-laws of National Youth Service Corps,” he added.Please Follow Us @ThePageNg
