“It is our responsibility to trace looted fund and ensure its return” — Acting President

[Abuja]–The Acting President, Professor Yemi Osinbajo has said that it is the government’s responsibility to trace looted fund and ensure its return, provoke an international outrage and call out those not cooperating.

He made this statement at the state villa while launching a two-day  conference on promoting International Co-operation in combating Illicit Financial Flows and Enhancing Asset Recovery on Monday.

The conference which seeks to foster sustainable development in Nigeria was held at the Banquet Hall State House.

According to the Acting President, “As President Buhari said if we don’t kill corruption, corruption will kill us. So we must see corruption as a existential problem.

“It is absurd we are asking for foreign aid and so much larger sums of money are making it out of the country through illicit flows,” he lamented.
