Call for submission: Atelewo Pelebe, a Yoruba anthology

[Opportunity]–Atelewo, is a recently launched group dedicated to reviving and repositioning the Yoruba culture with the mission to:

– Provide a platform where students and young people can get engaged with the dynamics of the Yoruba culture through competitions, lectures, dialogues and regular meetups.
– Provide a platform for the documentation and preservation of Yoruba ancient knowledge and culture.
– Rekindle people’s interest in Yoruba literature by organising readings, making Yoruba literature available for purchase and publishing new voices in Yoruba Language.

To further the attainment of our objectives, we hereby call for submission in our forthcoming Yoruba Anthology titled “Atelewo Pelebe”.

The anthology will be published in an E-book to be made available for free download on our website to be launched later.

The anthology will be given awareness in local and international media outlets. Find the requirements below and help us share it with your friends.

General Guidelines

– Submissions for the anthology is only open for male and female less than 40 years old.
– All submissions must be in Yoruba language (or a code switching with English Language), depicting Yoruba culture and can be on any theme whatsoever.
– Submissions should be in textual form and/or pictorial representation.
– All submissions in textual formats shall be in the mode of poetry, short story, playlet and opinion article.
– In case of texts, all submission must be properly tone marked using the Yoruba Name Software available via…/yoruba-keyboard-layouts-for-m…/
– All submission in pictorial representation shall be pictures, scanned sketches and pictures of works of Art.
– All submissions must be the original works of the Author and must not have been published before now.
– All submissions should be forwarded to with the Author’s bio (and Phone Number) of not more than 200 words.

The deadline for Submission is July 1, 2017.
