DSI-Hub manager calls for more participation of Deltans in ICT

[Delta]–The Delta State Innovation Hub Manager, Mr. Pius Juniors, has called for more participation of Deltans in Information and Communications Technology (ICT) sector in Delta State.

He made this call while giving his opening address at the at the recently concluded Asaba Tech Meetup tagged “A city of Smart opportunities” which held at the Delta State Innovation Hub, Asaba on Friday.

Pius, who noted that the people in the state needs to put up more positive attitude towards ICT, added that a city of smart opportunities can only be created when the people have learnt how to properly harness and apply the solutions of technology to their daily activities.

According to him, the Asaba Tech MeetUp will be a monthly gathering of innovators, investors and tech enthusiasts who are ready to make meaningful impacts in the state.

He thereafter advised participants at the event to make maximum use of the platform in contributing their quota to the development of ICT and entrepreneurship in Delta state.

The main speech of the day was delivered by Mr. Godwin Ossai, a management consultant and former banker with Standard Trust Bank Plc (now UBA Plc).

Ossai, who is also the founder of First Business Academy and Liberty Investment, spoke on the need for identification, implementation, gaining access to funding amongst other entrepreneurial themes.

The event also witnessed a panel interview with Miss Cent Orife of Aptech, Mr. Amos Adejimi and Miss Iyoo Esther of Kopa’s Konnect, Mr. Ehinze Emeka of Forloop Africa, Oredola Ibrahim of Skill NG and Mr. Nnamdi Osu of Mobile Software.
